Why Women’s Circles Feel More Important Than Ever

There’s a particular kind of tired that shows up in midlife. It’s not just the tired that comes from a bad night’s sleep or a packed calendar — it’s a deeper, quieter exhaustion. The kind that comes from decades of showing up for everyone else first.

If you’ve felt it, you’re not imagining it. And you’re definitely not alone.

For many women, midlife isn’t just a season of hormonal change — it’s a season of awakening. The pace we’ve kept for years starts to feel unsustainable. We begin questioning the expectations we’ve carried, the roles we’ve played, and the habit of putting our own needs last on a very long list. We find ourselves craving something different: more spaciousness, more honesty, more real connection — with ourselves and with other women who actually understand this stage of life.

This is exactly why we’re so excited to introduce Daily Glow Women’s Circles — and why we believe they might be one of the most powerful things we do for our community this year.

What Is a Women's Circle, Exactly?

If you’ve never been part of one, you’re in good company — most women haven’t. But the concept itself is far from new.

Long before group texts, Instagram DMs, and never-ending to-do lists, women gathered. They sat together to share stories, mark life’s transitions, seek guidance, and hold one another through hard seasons and joyful ones alike. Circle is one of the oldest forms of community there is.

Somewhere along the way, especially in a culture that prizes productivity and self-sufficiency, many of us lost access to that kind of gathering. We got busy. We got isolated, even while “connected.” We got used to carrying things alone.

A women’s circle is an intentional space to reverse that — to pause, exhale, and simply be witnessed by other women who get it. Our circles will be live experiences and will happen virtually over Zoom, which means you don’t need to travel to be part of one — just a quiet corner and a willingness to show up.

What Actually Happens in Circle

Every circle looks a little different, but you can generally expect a warm, guided experience that includes:

  • Guided meditation or visualization, to help you settle out of your head and into the present moment
  • Breathwork and gentle nervous system regulation, which — beyond feeling good — genuinely helps calm a dysregulated stress response, something so many of us are living with in midlife
  • Reflection and journaling prompts, tied to a chosen theme
  • Space to share, always optional, never required — though many women find that when they do open up, it leads to real, profound personal growth
  • Quiet space for self-discovery that doesn’t ask you to perform or explain yourself
  • A community of women, each on her own path, all figuring it out together

There’s no test to pass here. You don’t need to be “good” at meditation. You don’t need to identify as spiritual. You don’t need to have any of it figured out. You simply need to be willing to show up as you are — messy Tuesday and all.

The Science Behind Why This Works

This isn’t just a nice idea — there’s real physiology behind why gathering in circle feels so good.

Chronic stress and social isolation are both linked to dysregulation of the nervous system, and midlife tends to bring plenty of both: shifting hormones, caregiving demands, career pressure, and relationships in transition. Research on co-regulation shows that being in the presence of others who feel safe and attuned — even over a screen — can help calm our stress response in a way willpower alone can’t. Breathwork and guided meditation, two staples of circle, are also well-studied tools for shifting the body out of fight-or-flight and into a more regulated, restful state.

In other words: circle isn’t just emotionally meaningful. It’s a legitimate nervous-system reset — one that pairs beautifully with the other tools we talk about at Daily Glow, from strength training to protein-forward nutrition to sleep support.

Why We're So Drawn to This Work

Our co-founder Nicole trained as a certified women’s circle facilitator through The Wild Woman Project, an international network devoted to reviving this ancient practice of gathering women in intentional community. That training — paired with her background in wellness, nutrition and women’s health — shapes how she holds space in circle: warm, grounded, and never performative.

Nicole puts it simply: in a culture that constantly tells us to look outside ourselves for the next answer, the next fix, the next protocol, circle offers something different. It reminds us that often the wisdom we’re searching for is already inside us. We just don’t always have the space — or the support — to hear it.

Each Circle Has a Theme

Rather than one-size-fits-all sessions, our circles are built around various themes inspired by the natural world — lunar rhythms, the changing seasons, and life’s sacred cycles. Each theme opens a different doorway into reflection, healing, and growth, so no two circles feel the same.

Our very first circle, Journey Into the Wilderness Within, leans into this exact moment on the calendar — that in-between stretch when summer is loosening its grip and autumn hasn’t quite arrived. Nature uses this time to quietly prepare for change, long before it shows on the surface. We’re inviting women to do the same: to slow down, get curious, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that tend to get buried under responsibility and busyness.

Who Circle Is For

Whether you’re navigating perimenopause, stretched thin by everyone else’s needs, craving clarity about what comes next, or simply missing real connection with women who understand — there’s a seat for you here.

You don’t need previous circle experience. You don’t need to have your life together. You just need an open heart and a willingness to show up.

Common Questions About Joining Circle

Do I need to be on camera the whole time? No one is ever required to be on camera — we’d never force that. That said, connection is really the heart of circle, and it’s hard to feel truly seen by a room of names on a screen, so we do warmly encourage cameras on, especially during the sharing portion.

What if I don’t want to share out loud? Sharing is always optional. Plenty of women find just as much value in listening and journaling privately.

Is this therapy? No. Circle is a space for connection, reflection, and community — not a substitute for mental health treatment. If you’re working with a therapist, circle can be a beautiful complement to that work.

What do I need to bring? A journal and pen, a beverage and/or snacks so you feel comfortable and well-nourished, and a cozy blanket in case you get chilly. We’ll light a candle together to open circle (and blow it out together at the end) — you’re welcome to bring your own and light it with us to help mark that sacred space, but it’s not required.

Join Us

Our first Daily Glow Women’s Circle, Journey Into the Wilderness Within, is happening virtually on Sunday, September 20th at 1:00pm Central Time, hosted live over Zoom and facilitated by Nicole. Space is intentionally limited to keep the group small and intimate, so if you feel even a small pull toward this, we’d encourage you to reserve your spot early.

Bring a journal and pen, a beverage and/or snacks, a cozy blanket, and — if you’d like — a candle to set the mood. No pressure to share, no expectations to meet. Just come as you are.

We gather in circle to create space for healing, reflection, and growth. To learn to trust our own inner wisdom. To feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported. And to build the kind of meaningful connection that reminds us none of us are meant to navigate this season alone.

We’d be honored to hold space for you.
